For over a year, the International Maritime Organization – Alliance of Seafarers Towards achieving IMO’s Global Maritime Mission (IMO-ASTIG) has been carrying out various activities and programs in line with its mission of promoting the seafaring profession to the youth, making every Filipino seafarer “a cut above the rest”, and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals or UNSDGs.
Last March 09, 2021, IMO-ASTIG marked its first anniversary since it was founded by the IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador of the Philippines, Ms. Josephine J. Francisco. To commemorate this momentous event, the IMO-ASTIG organized a virtual celebration conducted via zoom.
Last May 18, 2021, the IMO-ASTIG celebrated its First Anniversary Celebration with the theme: Achieving Greater Alliance. The celebration was intended to highlight all the projects, activities, partnerships, or even challenges that IMO-ASTIG has gone through for a year as a group.
During the event, the team has also released their Anniversary Achievement Video containing all the activities and projects that they were able to carry out for the entire year. The video also includes the IMO-ASTIG member’s testimonials wherein they were able to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences as they work with the team for a year.
